Simon Beckman

Simon Beckman was born in Munich, Germany, where his family ran a successful international advertising agency. Thus, from birth, he was fully immersed in the creative process behind popular ad campaigns. Secondary education in Barcelona and London gave way to college and New York, where Simon enrolled in the School of Visual Arts. Two years later he transferred to the prestigious film production program at USC in Los Angeles. Having completed his formal education in 2001, Beckman turned to an even greater classroom for his proper one: commercial production. This time, his professors would be some of the biggest commercial directors like Michael Bay, Spike Jonze, and Joe Pytka and everyone in between. He toured the industry, essentially, working on every variety of live set. In 2006 Simon ventured forth on his own, and has since directed projects for car manufacturers like BMW, Audi, Volkswagen as well as popular European fashion brands Strellson, Windsor and Joop, among others.
